Paper Error Codes

The screen

  • Editor/Proceedings Administration / Paper Error Codes lists the problems editors encounter when processing contributions to the proceedings.

A default list of common problems is delivered with the instances of the SPMS. They can be modified via the screen

  • Editor/Proceedings Administration / Paper Error Codes

These codes serve a dual purpose since

  • Editors use them to report on processing experience, and they appear in the e-mails triggered to contributors when processing is complete.
  • They appear in the statistics that help JACoW editors understand the problems encountered by authors and take steps to be more explicit in the instructions concerning the preparation of contributions.

The most commonly encountered problems are:

  • Figure and table captions incorrectly formatted
  • Section and/or sub-section headings incorrectly formatted
  • References incorrectly formatted
  • Template file not used or parameter changed
  • Paper printed on wrong size paper (US Letter printed to A4 or vice versa)
  • incorrect indenting
