Things to Know to Be Successful

  1. Understand “must-fix” vs “time-dependent fix” expectations. Before the start of a conference, ask your conference Editor-in-Chief what is mandatory versus what is nice-to-have based on available time.
  2. Mentoring is expected for beginners. Those who’ve been around know new editors need help. Ask for help when you need it!
  3. Expect a mix of MS Word and LaTeX submissions; conferences vary. Typically, there are more Word editors than LaTeX, putting LaTeX editors in higher demand.
  4. Use the current JACoW templates as your baseline.
  5. Basic reference format: Name, “Title of paper, report”, Proc. Conf. Title, City, Country, Month, year, pp. #. [on a separate line:] doi:
